The continuous line of hills and ridges that surround the ancient centre of Amelia have been covered with rows of vines for centuries, immersed in the one of the most enchanting landscapes of Umbria. Here the altitude, microclimate and the land make up an ideal composition and we have an outstanding patrimony of vines and variety that have evolved through time and give witness of how the vocation of life in this territory has its roots in age-old times. The wine cellar of Colli Amerini was born in
1975, with the aim of bringing to light and evaluating this wealth that had previously only partly been expressed. With its 350 hectares of vines it has become witness to a synthesis of the immense potentiality of the territory. Through study and the continuous agronomic improvements that strive to steadily and gradually lower the grape production on the plant, we have always been aiming over the years to produce wine with character and a particular personality. By intensifying the understanding of all our vines and selecting those having the highest organoleptic value, and at the same time of a superior level, we have obtained
excellent results, also helped by the improvements in vinification techniques and by some of the most advanced and efficient machinery, even to a point of improving some wines in the barricos. The amount of our brand labels has been steadily increasing, satisfying the new market requests, with a varied quality and diverse taste, but sustained by the great number of vines in our vine-yards, with all the possibilities offered by their
aroma and taste. Always paying attention to quality-price, we propose wines of an exceptionally pleasant taste, fragrant aroma but also full-bodied. This is the philosophy and style of our wine cellar that is made up of 278 associates. Brand labels that also distinguish themselves for their different times and level of enjoyment. From the immediacy of the Novello and the Ciliegiolo, to the fragrant density of the wines of the DOC Colli Amerini, the important fullness of Orvieto Classico and the labels from the single wine yards such as Rocca Nerina, Grechetto and l'Olmeto, right up to the full-bodied and longevity wines such as Carbio and the Ciliegiolo 30 years.
